I lived across the street from the Iowa River, a keystone of Iowa’s water system- the most polluted water in the United States.  During this time Iwwould watch many a fisherman cast his pole into waters that I would not touch.  Inspired by the amount of garbage and waste that I would see on strolls to campus, I began a series of fish works.

Initially, the fish were foam, because I wanted them to have the ability to float.  Overtime, as my idea evolved, so did the fish. In the end, I created what was briefly knows as the North American Quencher, a fish so de-evolved it would only live in the brashish of river waters.
